(Really) Young Link's Tunic, in WOOL!

Knitting. Your gran might do it. Chances are, you don't. If you do, first of all, good for you for not being constrained by hobbies that society deems 'uncool' and 'a little bit sad'! Secondly, head over here to download the pattern for this sweet (in more ways than one) baby outfit, that you can then produce and either dress your baby son/daughter/nephew/niece/dog up in straight away, or safely store away until you get the chance.

The link above also features a wider gallery, including a 'Link'-green blanket with Triforce emblem, and a large wooden chest to put it in (The outfit, not the baby).

Luckiest. Baby. Ever.

'Hardcore' (read: Alcoholic) Zelda-related Gamer Fuel

I hate the phrase 'gamer fuel'. I hate that there's a product that uses it as a slogan. I hate that I can't think of anything wittier to call this post. I hate that it fits so well. I almost feel dirty writing it. But for now, I'm ok with it.

This, folks, is a Triforce. Dark rum, 99 Bananas (Whatever the hell that is) and Goldschlager, all used to represent Link, Zelda and Ganon respectively, make up this lethal concoction. Drink enough of these, and I assume you'll be taken away to your very own 'Sacred Realm'. Or, more accurately, the emergency ward, getting your stomach pumped.

Check out the full description here.

Life-size papercraft Link: Fifty trees died. TOTALLY worth it.

The whole 'picture speaks a thousand words' thing applies, here. Still, if I didn't add words, this wouldn't be a blog; it'd be a gallery. Oh, and if a picture speaks a thousand words, then a video probably speaks millions, and the subsequent video SERIES explaining how to create this masterful, wonderous piece of time-wastery would presumably speak billions. Am I tempted to give it a go myself? Of course I am. Will I ever get anywhere with it? Of course I won't.

Still, I'm glad someone else did.

Best. Cosplay. Props. Ever.

Has anyone got a spare... $lots? These things look the part and apparently act the part, too:

This shield is multi-purpose! It can be mounted on the wall, worn on your arm, and can even hold a sword while wall mounted for the ultimate display! Full size, the thickness ranges from 1/2 to 1 inch while remaining light and maneuverable. Includes mounting chain, arm band, and handle.

Yes, but can it repel a projectile from an Octorok?

And of the sword...
Additional features:
* Large and loaded with detail.
* Seal engraved on the blade.
* 440 Stainless Steel Blade.
* Not suitable for children, this is an adult sword collectible.

So if you give it to your little brother, expect to have his soul trapped inside it for seven years.

If you're unfairly rich, you can buy 'em here and here.

Word(s) of the day - Perler Beads

Etsy brings us a lot of awesome homemade Zelda stuff. And here's more!

Ridiculously talented handicraft lady Lostmitten brings us this (amongst a buttload of other awesome homemade gaming stuff) this 8-bit Zelda-styled notebook, with designs of 8-bit Link and an Octorok made from Perler Beads (which I have to admit, I had to google).

I can't think of anything funny to close this post with, so let's just assume I did.

Zelda-related Fashion Mistakes #001 - The NES Belt

This is not a 'good looking' item. It is not in any way, shape or form, aesthetically pleasing. It would not score you points with members of your own gender, let alone the opposite one. It is, quite simply, ugly.

Would I still wear it? Of course I would. I'm a Zelda fan. But I sure as hell wouldn't be under any misconceptions that I'd look good in the gaudy thing.

It's almost as bad as the Space Invaders tie I discovered it with.

Eurgh...

The Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Made of Ice. To deliver vodka.

'Cory' from Blizzard Entertainment (Y'know, the Warcraft people), had this amazing ice luge built to deliver vodka to his guests at his wedding, in addition to a Super Mario wedding cake (which you can see here).

I'd make some terrible joke about a guy from Blizzard having ice at his wedding, but instead, I'll just say this -

That's cool.

The big 'Zelda car' blow-out

Chances are, you already know about this - The infamous 1978 Ford Fairmont, painted with Zelda art of varying quality (Zelda's in green, for example), featuring Link, Zelda and most impressively, the entire overworld map of The Legend of Zelda (NES).

231 now presents rarely seen images of the... back of the girl who owned it and her pretty iffy Link tattoo (Check out that kokiri shield *elitist nerdy chortle*).

The car was recently put up for sale after doing just 110,000 miles for the measly sum of $500, including extra paint to touch up the design. If I lived in Oregon, I'd have bought it. Hopefully, it's found a loving new owner.

The Blinging of Bling: Bling Bling - Wii Edition

Bloo...dy...Hell.

The guys at GoNintendo found pictures of this, erm, 'pimped out' Zelda-themed Wii, covered in 7,500 24-carat dipped Swarovski crystals. I'm relatively certain even contemplating the numbers and precious gems involved in that last statement made my bank manager cry.

Good thing it's just a case mod. Imagine what a DVD lens made of crystals would do to your Wii games...

Triforce Cutting Board. Now to track down the steak knife of power, salad tongs of wisdom and wooden spoon of courage

Thank Nayru for those folks at homemade internet marketplace Etsy for their tireless efforts in making really expensive but pretty cool Zelda stuff that you'll never be able to buy.

This Triforce cutting board would compliment anyone's Zelda-themed kitchen, which we've obviously all got. Here's the 'official' description:

"This hand made Triforce cutting board is perfect for gamers that like to cook...or cooks that like video-games...or really anyone that likes things that look nice and are made of wood. The board is made of walnut and hard-maple, put together with FDA approved, water-proof glue (Titebond III), and treated with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax."

That's right. Mineral oil and beeswax. Oh yes.

If Link drank water at business meetings, he'd drink out of this

Someone over at the homemade marketplace Etsy crafted this stylish and elegant piece of... well, glass. It screams class and oozes sophistication.

And you'll never own one.

Yes, unfortunately, these glasses sold out on 13th April last year, so it's impossible for you to buy one. So really, the only purpose this post serves is to torture you with envy. Ha.

A Link To The Past cross stitch, single-handedly dragging the hobby out of the niche market of Grannies

Cross stitching and other such crafts dedicated to sticking needles in things (Excluding voodoo) often get a bad rep as being for people of an 'elder generation'. That couldn't be further from the truth, as this amazing Link to the Past Overworld Map cross stitch might show.

I say 'might' because there's really no way to prove that forum poster Servotron (who spent four months making this thing) isn't a 78-year-old woman. But let's face it, that'd just make this thing more awesome.

If Zelda/Tron crossover fanfiction got made into a novel, this would be the cover

This is just bloody cool. The guy responsible has an entire set of these available here but obviously, the only one we're interested in is the one for Ocarina of Time. Put it this way - If everyone bought books based on the cover art, this book would sell more than the game did. And that's a lot.

Wedding cakes - Now with more Link and Zelda

Originally found on a site about fashion that bangs on about 'geek chic' in a way that drives certain people to want to gouge out the eyes of other certain people with a railroad spike, this wedding cake topper, crafted by someone on Flickr, would probably fill the allotted quota of Zelda-related stuff that your significant other will allow you to have at your wedding.

To compliment this, why not walk down the aisle to Saria's Song, replace the wedding rings with Power Bracelets and make your best man and the bridesmaids wear matching Goron outfits?

If the previous thoughts have genuinely crossed your mind, you'll most likely never need a wedding cake topper. Still, it looks cool.
